The Original Clan Petition

Disclaimer: This is the original clan petition. It has not been modified in any way since it was submitted for approval by the IMM staff of AARDWOLF. While Clan Masaki tries to remain true to the spirit of the original petition, there are probably changes which can be found throughout the other links on the Homepage. As Clan Masaki is a dynamic entity, changes are expected and will be made throughout it's course to help nurture and improve.

Long ago when the lands were untamed and new, when there were less people in the world, a great, noble samurai of a mighty clan was ambushed and nearly killed. As he lay dying, a vagabond ninja girl stumbled upon him. Having a pure and generous heart, she nursed him back to health. While recovering, they fell in love and had a son. When the samurai brought his love and son to his clan, he was commanded by the clan elders to kill her since she was merely a vagabond ninja girl. He refused and was thus outcasted. The samurai had always been taught to obey his elders without question. He could not do this in regards to love. After much soul searching, he soon realized that there is no one "true view" to life and he vowed that his son would be taught to think for himself. The son was also taught in all the arts of warfare...and he excelled as he matured. His education did not stop there however; he mastered philosophy, morals and ethics, herbal lore, magic, and religion. In doing so, the young man learned what his parents hoped he would. First, how to learn and think for himself. Second, there is no one "TRUE" path...that one's path must be found on an individual basis.

One day, the young man's parents disappeared mysteriously. They left him with a final message: ...seek for your own path, my son. Be true to what we have taught you. The young man put his home to the torch and set out to find his destiny... His hope is to find individuals like himself to bring about an alternative path for lost adventurers.

The Masaki Clan is overall a neutral samurai/ninja clan primarily dedicated to helping its members "find their way in life." Too many times we have seen "nobles" who are not only un-noble, but also unknowledgable. One of our goals is to influence some of the "younger" members to be more "noble" and knowledgable.

Secondly, we follow a modified version of the Bushido code. We respect those who participate in honorable combat/battles. Those whom prey on the weak, we despise...they are viewed as being lower than a dog. Such individuals will never be honored with any form of honorable combat. Currently we will observe LIMITED PK and RAIDING. However, as with any body in dynamic equilibrium, we reserve the right to modify our stance as the nature of the world changes.

We consist of three dojos (schools) of learning to prepare the students as they search for their own paths. The Masaki Clan strives to find its place in the world primarily as a school of learning and meditation. However, due to the violence in the world, select skilled students, along with appropriate sensei supervision, have entered the world as elite bodyguards and assassins to provide supplement income for the clan.

The first dojo is a training school that will help new and intermediate players just starting their journey. Students of this school are encouraged to explore not only the world...but also their spirit...to test themselves and learn who they are. **This school is for players that are dedicated to gaining levels and questing at a non-superherp level. Students in the level ranges of: 50 to 201 (Prime class) or 1 to 200 (2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x Classes).**

The second school is for students who wish to follow the path of patience and discipline. These students tend to seek challenges that are greater than themselves...and if they survive they learn more about their frailties. These students will form the core of the clan defenders. They may also hire themselves out as bodyguards only. Only with the approval of a sensai, may they attempt to perform a service. **This school is for remort superheros who are content with their current standing and just wish to gain powerups. Level range for this school is 201 (2x, 3x, 4x, 5x Classes). If these students wish to remort, their ranking will also change to reflect their change in school.**

The final dojo is for the advanced students that have journeyed long and far...who have a closer understanding of who they are...what they can do.... These students are the elite of the clan who require no or little supervision...they are the Daishan, students that have found their path in life. These students may hire themselves out as bodyguards and/or assassins. It is usually from these students that potential leaders will emerge as old Senseis feel the call of the grave.... **Players will enter this school starting at level 1 of 6x Class and beyond. 6x and 7x SHs do not re-enter the Super Hero school...Once Daishan, forever Daishan. Tiers are also exempt from re-entering a lower school. They may elect to do so if they wish.**

*Special Note*: The first 3 ranks are for member who do not wish to participate in PK. This does not mean that they are not PKable. However, it does mean that anyone who initiates PK against members of these 3 Non-PK ranks, will be hunted down and PKed by all eligible members of the Masaki Clan of PKable ranks. This note is voided if the Non-PK member initiates the combat.

[-= Joining Requirements =-]

  • Must be at least level 50
  • Complete an interview with the leader of the appropriate school
  • Complete a special quest at the discretion of the school leader

[-= Promotions =-]

Promotions in the clan are based entirely on the individual's hard work. The levels a player achieves and the amount of service and loyalty in a school will dictate how high the player ranks.

[-= Demotions =-]

Demotions may be made if a player instigates any action that negatively affects the clan, such as selling clan equipment openly or secretly without the prior consent of a Sensei. Also members of non-PK ranks who initiate PK may face demotion charges.

[-= Outcasting =-]

Although the clan is a set of three schools, its members are "family." They should desire to be there for a common goal..."To find one's self" through much growth and learning. We expect all students to learn not only about the world, but their place in it...which will ultimately affect how they decide to interact with the world and their neighbors once they find their "calling". Outcasting is not something we take lightly... but will occur if the student decides his/her/its path no longer resides with the clan. If your destiny leads you to a different path, we wish you well.

***NOTE***: House Rules of Aardwolf must always be adhered to. Outcasting with extreme prejudice will occur especially for abuse of:

  • Multiplaying
  • Intentional harrassment designed to negatively affect someone in a "non-gaming" capacity...(exs: threatening of real life bodily harm, unsolisitated verbal harrassment, etc.
    **Multiple PK attacks does not constitute intentional harrassment of a "non-gaming" capacity.**

[-= Decisions =-]

All major decisions that may affect the entire clan will be made by all the leaders and the members of the Kirran Dojo. Decisions affecting the individual dojos will be made by the leader of that dojo respectively. The members of respective schools are, of course, encouraged to provide feedback and insight to the leader.
